Project Summary
As part of a three-person group project, we aimed to design a tabletop card game with a maximum of 18 cards, without limitations on player count or content variety. Each team member independently brainstormed mechanics and created simple prototypes for playtesting.
My goal was to refine and develop a fully playable 1v1 strategy card game. This included defining the core gameplay loop, ensuring balanced card interactions, and structuring a clear and engaging rulebook, which I achieved by following steps:
- Conducted game design brainstorming with teammates and developed an early prototype for playtesting.
- My 1v1 battle-focused concept received the most positive feedback, leading me to take on the role of lead designer.
- Created and iterated the full rulebook, refining mechanics through multiple internal and external playtests.
- Led discussions on balance adjustments and integrated feedback-driven improvements into the final design.
As a result, the team successfully finalized the game mechanics and rulebook, ensuring clear, strategic gameplay. Achieved a fully playable, polished version of Elemental Clashtic that provides engaging and tactical decision-making for players.
